Arrival in Pomarance
Your adventure begins in Pomarance with an introduction to the equestrian center. You will learn to load, brush and guide the donkey, and discover what he likes. This is followed by a short guided walk to put everything into practice.

To Micciano via the alabaster quarries
Departure from the stables and descent towards the river Trossa via the route of the ancient alabaster quarries. Along the path are white, marble-like rocks: alabaster that was mined here and processed in Volterra. After a stretch along the river you will climb towards the mountain village of Micciano. Along the way there will be time for a break at an ancient church surrounded by fields. Overnight stay and delicious food in a farmhouse with swimming pool.
Forests, panoramas and nature reserve
The day starts with a brisk climb through woods and maquis, followed by a panoramic dirt road. Those who wish can take an additional hike to Micciano, spectacularly situated on a steep rock. Then the trail leads through the forest to a small river. Overnight in a tent or room in an agriturismo on the edge of a nature reserve, far away from civilization.
Hilltops and Libbiano
The tour begins on a narrow path along the hilltops, with breathtaking views from Volterra to the Appenines and the Mediterranean Sea. Then you descend along the old road of Libbiano, past the former village spring, to the final overnight stay. A real Tuscan farmhouse with many animals and a beautiful swimming pool awaits you.
Back to Pomarance
The last stage leads through the shady maquis and oak forests of the nature reserve. The path crosses the river and winds further through the hills towards Pomarance. Along the way you will enjoy beautiful views of villages and the typical Tuscan countryside - an atmospheric conclusion to an unforgettable adventure.
