We did the five-day trip libbiano together with our friends and children. A total of 5 adults and 5 children between 5 and 11. Added to that were Paula and Penelope, and what nice ladies they were. Sometimes a bit stubborn (though we all are sometimes) but mostly very sweet and affectionate. Our children found it super fun to brush and groom them.
The walks themselves, through beautiful countryside, were at times quite tough due to the heat. But all in all certainly doable with small children. The youngest ones could sit on the donkey when it was a bit flatter and of course they loved it.
Upon arrival we were always very warmly welcomed by the owners of the agriturismo. First putting the donkeys away in the meadow with fresh hay and water, and then finding refreshment at/in the pool (by the way, all B&B's are very beautiful, large enough and well maintained). In the evening we always got fantastic Italian meals, complete with dessert and limoncello and/or grappa.
For us an unforgettable experience and highly recommended! Our children still talk about 'their' donkeys every day and they are missed. Give them another big hug from all of us!!!
